The Belgium coach says the Manchester City defender
is only sitting out full training to undergo indoor sessions to best
prepare him for the upcoming international friendlies
The Manchester City defender sat out a second training session on Wednesday ahead of the upcoming friendlies against Italy and Spain.
Kompany ended a lay-off with a calf problem by appearing in Belgium's final Euro 2016 qualifier against Israel last month, reportedly upsetting City boss Manuel Pellegrini in the process.
"Vincent Kompany, Laurent Depoitre, Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen are following an individual programme of rehabilitation indoors," Wilmots told reporters.
"This will be probably also be the case tomorrow. What matters now is the mental and physical regeneration.
