The straight-talking former Napoli striker is ready
to shake-up the Selecao as he joins the coaching staff for qualifers
against Argentina and Peru
Former Brazil great Careca will add his name to yet another illustrious
list this week when he joins the Selecao as the latest incumbent of
coach Dunga’s guest-coach program.
Following in the footsteps of the likes of Mauro Silva, Jairzinho, Oscar, Cafu, Edu, Edmilson and Clodoaldo, the ex-Napoli striker will join the coaching staff in for World Cup qualifiers against Argentina and Peru.
With the exception of Oscar, who was part of the mythical side of 1982, every other player on that list can call themselves a world champion.
Upon his July 2014 appointment, Dunga, along with technical coordinator Gilmar Rinaldi, introduced the ‘guest-coach’ scheme to serve as a reminder to the current squad of just what they represent every time they pull on the famous yellow jersey.
