Pep Guardiola has described Bayern Munich’s second-half performance in the 5-1 win over Arsenal in midweek as “a disaster” and said his side will not win the Champions League unless they improve their game .
“We needed to play the ball around more against Arsenal,” the coach said. “We’ve got to improve that. It was a disaster in the second half, which is why we’re not yet ready to win the Champions League . ”
Bayern host Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Saturday having dropped their first points last week when they were held to a goalless draw at Eintracht Frankfurt and it appears Guardiola is warning against complacency .
To that end he played up his opponents, despite them already being 21 points adrift of the leaders after 11 games of the season .
