The Portuguese manager has received punishments for
his outspoken manner in front of reporters this season, and a club
director recognised he needs help with the press
A key aide of Roman Abramovich has affirmed that there is concern over Jose Mourinho's press outbursts, while admitting Chelsea should have taken some responsibility in the matter.
The Portuguese manager has received a string of punishments for controversial statements this season.
And while club technical director Michael Emenalo criticised his outspoken manner, he added that Chelsea also had to face up to club disciplinary matters.
“As one of the big football clubs in the world, we understand that we have a responsibility to greater society and the football world,” Emenalo told the Daily Telegraph.
“To represent ourselves with a certain responsibility and [Abramovich] takes that very, very seriously. He demands that we must behave in a way that justifies our elevated status.
