Daniel Sturridge has moved a step closer to his first Liverpool appearance underJürgen Klopp after returning to full training on Tuesday.
The injury-prone striker is yet to feature for Klopp, having damaged his knee in a training-ground collision with Jordon Ibe before the new manager’s first game in charge , at Tottenham Hotspur on 17 October. The problem has taken longer than expected to heal, because of a buildup of fluid on the knee, but after a period of light training the 26-year-old has now taken part in his first full training session at Melwood.
Liverpool face Sturridge’s former club Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday but it remains to be seen whether the England international will be considered despite intensifying his training.
